History

John and Lloyd Crumrine created Cherokee Holdings, an SBA recognized Small, Disadvantaged, Veteran-owned business, in 2008 in response to a need in the aviation industry for advice and guidance on compliance with new safety management systems integration.

Between Lloyd and John Crumrine there is almost 50 years of experience in the United States Air Force. Lloyd served as an instructor pilot and squadron/group commander at Channel Islands Air National Guard Station, as well as command tours at Edwards AFB and Kirkland AFB. After his USAF career, Lloyd served as the head of a Flight Standards District Office with the Federal Aviation Administration as well as the FAA head of the Certificate Management office for TWA. He has recently been serving as a subject matter expert instructor at the FAA Academy, teaching new FAA inspectors the latest in aviation safety and risk management practices.

John Crumrine, also a pilot, served as the head of Wing Standards and Evaluations at Channel Islands Air National Guard Station. He still serves in a reserve capacity directing operations in one of the squadrons and overseeing compliance to state and federal guidance through thorough self-inspections. His civilian career has been focused on security and risk management, as well as disaster recovery and continual process improvement methodologies.

Over the decades of service, John and Lloyd have developed a network of highly-skilled, well-respected, and congenial professionals. People with a genuine love of aviation and service who love to help others succeed.
